Heated outdoor cat house

I bought this heated outdoor cat house for a stray cat who started to come on our patio a few months ago. The delivery was very fast, the product looks exactly like in the pictures on the website and so far so good. Our little stray protege is very nervous and at first, he only went on top of it. But, a few days later, and few degrees colder, he decided to give it a try. He is now a lodger in the little cosy house, even when it is not plugged in. Would be very helpful if the information leaflet supplied would specify the power rating of the heated mat so we can estimate the energy consumption.

Nice overall unit. Interior bed is nice and warm, but not adjustable

Overall this is a nice little outdoor cat bed. Currently trying to train a feral kitty we have trapped and inside our garage to use it. The size I got is Medium, and there is PLENTY of space for him.

The assembly was straight forward, it seems fairly solid. There are additional pegs that can be hammered into dirt or gravel if you are placing this fully outside. Otherwise the lifted bottom has nice little rubber-capped feet to give it some grip on a floor.

The instructions and guidelines were easy to follow. Onky thing I dont know about is that it says the bed pad will heat between 35 and 45 degrees. 35 seems fine, 45 might be a bit much for him all day, unless the weather is super cold. Plus there is no way to control the temperature, so I don't understand where there would be a 10 degree variation? In any case, it currently does not seem too hot in our unheated garage, with ambient temperatures fluctuating right now down to 1-2 overnight.

There are two flaps. The inner one which is padded, and an outer, thinner, one that appears to have ties? and is also able to be rolled up and tucked away with a snap.

So far our feral rescue does not appreciate the inner flap, which is not removable and does not have any way to button it up, out of the opening. I purchased a button snap machine before and might try to put some little plastic snaps on it so it can stick to the roof. At the moment I have it pinned to the top of the box with a small weight.

The cord is not very long, but long enough. Seems heavy duty. Likely you would need an outdoor extension cord anywhere you wanted to place it, regardless.

Itbis not "animal proof" against other smaller, invading predator animals like foxes, raccoons, and such. But if it was made animal-proof, likely an outdoor kitty would not be able to use it either. Just something to keep in mind that ideally, it should be placed in a relatively safe location that only said kitty could access it. Otherwise you might end up with a newfound raccoon buddy living in this bed.

The overall design reminds me a bit of a foldable cooler bag. I kind of wish the interior had been fitted with something softer or less glaring than the metallic foil sheen, but it is a minor thing, and I appreciate that this is easy to clean for a grubby little stray kitty.

I am hoping we will get some useful use of this, getting our stray to become safe and comfortable inside this nice heated house. From there we will hopefully get him used to a more inside house space. But at least this should keep him warm in the garage over the next few weeks!

A bit pricy, but seems it should hopefully withstand some elements. Not sure about snow loads on this little house, but ideally it wouldnt be stuck with that much snow on it to collapse.

A good offering to a little stray so they dont freeze to death in the winter.
